Cosmetic Fillers

Dermal and facial fillers are injectable compounds used to smooth deep facial wrinkles and folds, creating a soft, natural look. Fillers can be safely injected below the surface to raise the level of the skin, adding volume where needed to restore a supple, more youthful appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the results last?

Results will vary with the type of filler and the individual. Some fillers may last six to nine months, some for up to a year, and others for longer. For optimal results, additional treatments or “top-ups” may be recommended. For more detailed information about our dermal and facial fillers, contact Healing Waters for an individual consultation. We can help you decide upon a treatment plan that best suits your needs.

What are the risks?

The specific risks vary with the type of filler used and the individual. Treatment recommendations, procedures, and risks will be discussed with you in detail during your consultation and/or prior to treatment.

In general, some of the complications associated with injectable fillers include bruising or discoloration, pain, swelling, allergic reaction, infection, numbness or nodules/granulomas (lumps).

How are fillers administered?

Dermal and facial fillers are injected into targeted areas where skin has creased or lost volume. The type of filler and the number and location of the injections will be individually customized for maximum effectiveness and natural looking results.

Will the results look natural?

The treatment areas and amount of filler used will be tailored to your individual aesthetic needs and for the most natural looking result.

Will it hurt?

The injection(s) can cause discomfort (usually mild) depending upon the depth required for optimal results. Topical anesthesia may be used, and nerve block may be an option that you can discuss with our certified healthcare professional to help minimize any discomfort.

Will I need more than one treatment?

Correction with dermal and facial fillers is temporary, and repeat or touch-up injections are usually needed for maintenance and best results. At Healing Waters, our certified health care professional will create a customized treatment plan to suit your individual needs and aesthetic goals.

What is the difference between dermal and facial fillers?

The difference between dermal and facial fillers is where the product is placed upon injection. Juvederm, Restylane and other hyaluronic acid based fillers are injected into the dermis. Voluma and Sculptra are injected under the dermis, on top of the bone.

What is the difference between Restylane and Restylane Silk?

While Restylane is used to augment the lips, making them look fuller, Restylane Silk is used to rejuvenate the lips and reduce the appearance of aging. Restylane Silk will help define the border of the lips without adding volume. Ideal for making lips more youthful-looking without augmentation.
