Precision Tx

PrecisionTx is a laser treatment option for providing minimally-invasive face and neck lifts. It is ideal for treating mild to moderate fatty tissue and loose skin in the lower face, jowls and neck.

Precision Tx Face Tightening

PrecisionTx, formerly known as SideLaze, is the newest laser treatment from Cynosure for providing a “knifeless facelift”. This procedure is perfect for the “in between patient”, someone not quite ready for a traditional or surgical facelift, but who is starting to experience sagging jowls and loose skin around the lower face and neck.

PrecisionTx is a unique laser contouring system for treating small areas. The procedure involves inserting a very small cannula under the dermal layer of the skin to deliver heat energy. The heating effect of the laser causes unwanted fat beneath the facial skin to melt. The liquefied fat is then safely removed through a small suction device. The targeted laser energy also causes tissue coagulation leading to an instant tightening of the dermal and epidermal layers as well as the underlying tissue. New collagen growth is stimulated significantly improving the appearance of sagging skin. The texture and firmness of the skin will continue to improve over three to six months following treatment. PrecisionTx can also be used to treat acne scarring.

PrecisionTx treatments are minimally invasive and are completed in-office. Only one procedure is necessary, taking approximately an hour to complete. PrecisionTx is ideal for patients who are seeking the best possible results with the least amount of downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a candidate?

The best candidates for the Precision Tx treatment are individuals with a modest amount of neck or face aging and who are experiencing sagging skin around the lower face, jowls and neck. Significant laxity is still best treated with more traditional face/neck lift surgical techniques. For individuals who are opposed to surgery, the PrecisionTx procedure can be a viable alternative. We encourage you to schedule a complimentary consultation with a Healing Waters plastic surgeon to best determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure.

What to expect post-surgery?

Patients will notice immediate tightening of the skin, but best results will take an additional three to six months to become visible. A compression garment will be given to patients to wear around the neck and head as the face becomes accustomed to its new structure. This will be worn continuously for the first 48 hours and only at night for the next 4 to 6 weeks thereafter. Consistent use of the garment by patients has been shown to yield faster and better results.

Because new collagen is formed, results are long-lasting. Only one PrecisionTx treatment should be necessary to achieve the desired results.

Does a PrecisionTx treatment hurt?

There is minimal discomfort associated with the PrecisionTx treatment. Patients are treated with a local anesthetic to numb the areas that will be addressed. During the procedure, patients may feel slight pressure or a warming sensation in and around the areas to be treated, but these are mild sensations.

Will there be scarring?

Only three minor incisions are made, one under each earlobe and one under the chin. The incisions do not require stitches and, with proper care, will be almost undetectable once healed. Additionally, your surgeon will provide information and resources on scar prevention.

How long does the PrecisionTx procedure take?

While exact treatment time will vary, patients should anticipate one to two hours for the procedure.

What is the downtime of PrecisionTx?

Immediately after the treatment there will be some swelling and a little soreness. Patients may experience some leaking from the incision sites during the first 24 hours following the procedure. A facial compression garment needs to be worn continuously for the first 48 hours following the procedure. The garment then needs to be worn 12 hours a day for the next 12 days, and then as often as possible for an additional 2 weeks to further enhance results. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities in a day or two.
